Miguel Lameiro
Principal
Miguel has over three decades of experience across high schools, universities, and industry, with a focus on AI and what it means for how we prepare students for the future of work. He believes students learn best when the work is real, and the problems matter. He is also a father of teenage twin sons, which shapes his perspective on today’s challenges and opportunities.
His degrees span physics, literature, and education from the University of Toronto, as well as an MBA from Ivey Business School. Recently, he has been building courses and programs that treat AI as a given, not a bonus. He enjoys hiking, swimming, and movie nights with his wife and boys, and holds a black belt in Taekwondo.
Sedef Ozyigit
Director of Student Experience & Success
With more than three decades of experience in education, Sedef Ozyigit began her career as an ESL/EFL teacher before moving into leadership roles, serving as a vice-principal and later as a principal in K-12 education internationally. Having spent more than 20 years in senior leadership, she has worked closely with students, families, and educators to foster academic achievement, personal growth, wellbeing, and leadership development.
Since relocating to Toronto in 2024, Sedef has continued her commitment to student success and educational innovation across both secondary and post-secondary education. At VEGA Academy, she leads initiatives that enhance student wellbeing, engagement, academic achievement, and university readiness, helping students develop the skills, confidence, and resilience to reach their full potential.
